CCUMC seeks to serve people wherever they may be on the faith journey or the journey of life. Our ministries encourage people to be in community with one another so that we may live the fellowship God so desired.
Children and Youth Ministries
Christian Education at our church is vital to the future of our church and world. We create opportunities for children and youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus and experience the church today.

United Methodist Women
Our local unit of an international group of women organized for mission. One of our primary projects is Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Illinois. Our United Methodist Women (UMW) meet on the second Tuesday of each month alternating between 1:00pm and 7:00pm.
Evening Star Circle
An organization of women who gather on the first Thursday of each month for food, fellowship, and Christian service. Among their many projects, are support for local church needs and projects as well as the Baby Fold in Normal, Illinois.
Meeting in either homes or the church the second Tuesday of the month, this women's group sponsors several fund raising events throughout the year as well as social activities such as diner, banquets, and parties. The circle also supports the church hand various ministries.
We believe that we are called t transform the world. When we pray, “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” it’s not just our prayer…it’s our call. We seek to offer opportunities of all ages for service to the whole world. Our financial giving, building use, and sending out of people in resources reflect our commitment to bring hope to the hungry, homeless, hopeless, and anyone needing relief. These are a few of our ministries.
Coal City has been affected by 2 tornadoes in 2 years. When disaster hits, we step up. Our Disaster Relief Team mobilizes the building to provide meals, personal items, and cleaning materials to those impacted and coordinates clean up efforts in the community. We are also instrumental in serving the long term recovery efforts in the county.
Appalchia Service Project (ASP)
Each summer, we organize a youth mission trip to the poor of Appalachia through the Appalachian Service Project.
Beginning in 2016, Coal City UMC began sending adults to Juarez, Mexico, to build homes through the United Methodist Mission, Operacion Hogar.
