Outreach Ministries
We believe that we are called t transform the world. When we pray, “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” it’s not just our prayer…it’s our call. We seek to offer opportunities of all ages for service to the whole world. Our financial giving, building use, and sending out of people in resources reflect our commitment to bring hope to the hungry, homeless, hopeless, and anyone needing relief. These are a few of our ministries.
Disaster Relief
Coal City has been affected by 2 tornadoes in 2 years. When disaster hits, we step up. Our Disaster Relief Team mobilizes the building to provide meals, personal items, and cleaning materials to those impacted and coordinates clean up efforts in the community. We are also instrumental in serving the long term recovery efforts in the county.
Appalchia Service Project (ASP)
Each summer, we organize a youth mission trip to the poor of Appalachia through the Appalachian Service Project.
Operacion Hogar
Beginning in 2016, Coal City UMC began sending adults to Juarez, Mexico, to build homes through the United Methodist Mission, Operacion Hogar.
