The mission of the Coal City United Methodist Church
is to be a sanctuary where prayer, worship, acts of mercy,
and study of scripture empower persons to live
as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission Statement

The Coal City United Methodist Church is actively involved in the mission field.  From around the world to our back yard, the church is actively helping make the lives of other children of God better.  The following is just a small list of the number of projects that our church is involved in.

OUTREACH MINISTRIES

The Prayer Chain
This ministry binds us together in prayer to thank and praise our Lord and to ask for His mercy and guidance.  If you have a special concern you would like us to pray for, please contact the church office
here.
Hospital Visits
These visits are made by the pastor and/or the prayer team.  Please call the church office when you are going in the hospital or know of someone who is and would like a visit.
Communion for Shut-Ins
This service is available for those who wish to share in the Lord's Supper.  Call the church office for yourself, or for someone you know to arrange for communion to be brought to you.
A Community Room
A separate building is available for small group meetings.  Call the church office to schedule the use of this room.
Confirmation Classes
Offered for youth in 7th grade or older in preparation for making a personal commitment to Christ.
AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)
Though not formally affiliated with the church, these groups meet here Sundays at 8:00pm, Mondays at 7:30pm and Thursdays at 8:00pm.  The Wednesday groups meets at 8:00pm and includes NA (Narcotics Anonymous).  These support groups are open to the community.
